各位Horasis中国论坛的朋友们,大家好,我的名字是龚万彬,是上海环翼一米一平台的创始人兼CEO,主要工作是协助企业开展基于数据和知识的科学可持续发展决策。大家如果不知道自己的产品如何满足欧美和世界各国市场的环境准入及披露要求,不清楚如何有效开展的组织及产品碳管理、绿色供应链以及利用数字化技术支持企业ESG,特别是如何有效地整合企业内外部资源建立企业可持续发展的生态优势,咱们可以聊一聊,一米一平台15年来一直做的就是通过整合政府、NGO、咨询和认证机构、标准以及数字AI技术等,共同帮助企业解决这些问题。

Greetings to all friends at the Horasis China Forum. My name is Gong Wanbin, the founder and CEO of Ecovane Platform. My main work is to assist enterprises in carrying out science-based sustainable development decisions based on data and knowledge. If you are unsure about how your products can meet the environmental access and disclosure requirements of the European, American, and global markets, or how to effectively carry out organizational and product carbon management, green supply chain, and use digital technology to support corporate ESG, particularly how to effectively integrate internal and external resources of the enterprise to establish the ecological advantage of sustainable development, we can have a chat. For the past 15 years, the Ecovane Platform has been integrating government, NGOs, consulting and certification institutions, standards, and digital AI technology to help enterprises solve these problems.

主持人: 一米一平台如何支持国际和中国企业选择可持续的实践,并提高可持续发展水平,以及如何看待技术和创新?比如一米一平台的产品环境影响评价、生态设计、绿色供应链等工具对于促进ESG在企业经营管理中的落地?
Question:How does the Platform support international and Chinese enterprises in choosing sustainable practices, improving the level of sustainable development, and how does it view technology and innovation, such as the environmental impact assessment of the Platform's products, ecological design, green supply chain and other tools for promoting ESG in corporate management?
龚万彬:为了回答您的这个问题,我想先跟大家聊一下Horasis这个词语的含义,昨晚和Frank聊天,我问他,他说这个词来自古希腊,是视野的意思,我后来查了一下,“Horasis"是一个富有哲学深度的词,代表了一种跨越地域和文化界限的全球视野和洞察力。
我于是想送一个相应的中文词语给Frank,查了一下,《礼记·学记》里的博雅二字比较接近,代表广博多元的交流与学识,高尚深远的风度与品德——(“始乎诗,立乎礼,成乎乐。诗,性之言也;礼,性之别也;乐,性之和也;文,质之采也;数,质之理也;博雅,质之长也。”)
各位,回到主持人的问题上来——也就是一米一平台如何支持国际和中国企业选择可持续的实践,并提高可持续发展水平,以及如何看待技术和创新,比如一米一平台的产品环境影响评价、生态设计、绿色供应链等工具对于促进ESG在企业经营管理中的落地——要回答你的问题请允许我用老子的《道德经》里面的四个字“道法术器”来解释,一米一平台做的,无非就是在这四个字上做文章:
道——道就是趋势规律,人类文明要延续,世界要可持续发展,企业要开展ESG,这就是大道,偏离了这个方向,南辕北辙,后面做什么都是徒劳——在这个层次上,国际和政府、NGO以及今天这个Horasis论坛,就是在帮助我们梳理和寻找正确的方向;确定ESG、可持续产品经济和企业发展的关系,帮助企业了解企业竞争战略和市场发展趋势,支持双碳政策和可持续经济的建设;
法——法是制度和方法论,在一米一平台上,我们在围绕企业如何创造可持续的产品和服务,支持绿色经济与发展方面也与各公私方合作,包括参与发起和建立了EPDChina这个非盈利组织,通过科学公正透明的多方评估与协作体系,支持绿色产品环境信息的公开和市场竞争的有序开展,避免劣币驱逐良币;
术——术是具体的技术和标准,国际层面上,围绕企业和产品的可持续属性评估与公开有一系列的国际标准,在一米一平台上,我们兼容了这些ISO、EN等国际标准,同时,也支持开发中国以及各行各业的行业及产品碳足迹及环环境影响评价标准(PCR),通过这些努力,我们共同形成产品和组织的评价及声明规范;
器——器就是工具了,也就是通常大家所理解的一米一平台的评价和企业管理工具,无论是开展组织碳核查、还是产品的碳足迹、绿色供应链、生态设计等等ESG环境评估与管理,支持企业快速高效地利用数字、信息以及AI等技术,更好地实现多产品、多工厂和链状、扇状供应链体系的ESG环境治理。
所以,一米一平台不是只在器这个层面做工作——当然这个也是重要而基础的工作——而是着眼于道法术器,解决企业在开展ESG过程中的政策、市场、技术以及管理等各个层面的问题,这样才能支持企业的ESG落地与执行。

Bill: To answer your question, I would like to first talk about the meaning of the word Horasis. I chatted with Frank last night and asked him. He said that the word comes from ancient Greek and means vision. I later checked that "Horasis" is a philosophically rich word that represents a global vision and insight that transcends regional and cultural boundaries.
I then wanted to give Frank a corresponding Chinese word. I checked and found that the two words "Bo Ya" in "The Book of Rites·The Record of Learning" are quite close, representing broad and diverse exchanges and learning, noble and profound demeanor and character - ("It begins with poetry, stands with rites, and ends with music. Poetry is the expression of nature; rites are distinctions of nature; music is the harmony of nature; literature is the color of quality; numbers are the principles of quality; Bo Ya is the growth of quality.")
Ladies and Gentlemen, back to the host's question - that is, how the Ecovane Platform supports international and Chinese enterprises in choosing sustainable practices, improving the level of sustainable development, and how it views technology and innovation, such as the environmental impact assessment of the Platform's products, ecological design, green supply chain and other tools for promoting ESG in corporate management - to answer your question, please allow me to use the four words "Dao Fa Shu Qi" from Laozi's "Tao Te Ching" to explain. What the Platform does is nothing more than making articles on these four words.


• Dao is the trend and law. If human civilization is to continue, the world is to develop sustainably, and enterprises are to carry out ESG, this is the great Dao. If you deviate from this direction, you will be going in the opposite direction, and whatever you do later will be in vain. At this level, international and government, NGOs, and today's Horasis Forum are helping us sort out and find the right direction; determine the relationship between ESG, sustainable product economy, and enterprise development, help enterprises understand enterprise competition strategy and market development trend, support dual carbon policy and sustainable economic;
• Fa is the system and methodology. On Ecovane Platform, we also cooperate with various public and private parties around how enterprises can create sustainable products and services and support green economy and development, including participating in the initiation and establishment of EPDChina, a non-profit organization, through scientific, fair and transparent multi-party evaluation and cooperation system, support the public disclosure of green product environmental information and the orderly conduct of market competition, to avoid bad money driving out good money;
• Shu is the specific technology and standard. At the international level, there are a series of international standards around the sustainable attribute assessment and disclosure of enterprises and products. On the Ecovane Platform, we are compatible with these ISO, EN and other international standards. At the same time, we also support the development of carbon footprint and environmental impact assessment standards (PCR) for industries and products in China and various industries. Through these efforts, we jointly form the evaluation and declaration norms for products and organizations;
• Qi is the tool, that is, what people usually understand as the evaluation and enterprise management tools of the Platform. Whether it is carrying out organizational carbon verification, or product carbon footprint, green supply chain, ecological design and other ESG environmental assessment and management, support enterprises to quickly and efficiently use digital, information and AI and other technologies, better achieve multi-product, multi-factory and chain-shaped, fan-shaped supply chain system ESG environmental governance.
Therefore, the Platform is not just working at the tool level - of course, this is also an important and basic work - but focusing on Dao Fa Shu Qi, solving the policy, market, technology and management.


主持人:关于开展ESG和可持续发展,各方应该如何协作及制定怎样的战略,在这方面,贵司的平台有什么做法和建议?

Question:How should different stakeholders Collaborate and what Strategy should business take on ESG, do you have any suggestion on this

龚万彬:首先可持续发展这不是企业独善其身就能制定的战略,战略讲究的是解决问题,传统企业要解决的是客户的需求,痛点和难点,没有客户说他们需要低碳的绿色的产品、需要可以拯救亚马逊森林和北极冰川的服务,那么可持续战略对于大多数企业而言,可持续就是虚无缥缈的东西,如果CEO用务实的层面去跟企业谈,董事会和决策层跟你要资本回报率,要产出,那是拿不出来的,这个是很现实的问题。

那么不务实,讲大道理务虚,说人类和平,保护子孙后代的共同利益这些千秋万代无比正确的价值观世界观行不行?如果企业钱多的花不完,做慈善没有道理不行;但是绝大多数企业不是那么有钱,那就要解决虚实结合的问题——也就是让可持续的价值观能在业务层面产生源源不断的价值,这样,可以实现上下合一。

那问题就变成谁能支持实现可持续价值观和企业经营与效益的有机统一?答案是政府和各界政策、规则制定者,制定出有利于可持续发展的投资、市场、以及经营管理政策,例如现在欧盟推出了GREEN DEAL,中国政府也在逐步推出一系列的绿色产品和市场建设方案,有了这样的需求倒逼,这样企业就必须结合这个政策及市场需求制定出合理的可持续发展战略,而为了实现可持续产品和组织发展的目标,企业不仅仅需要实现企业内部的从价值到行动的统一,还需要接触外部的企业和伙伴的力量创建企业的价值生态,这样,或许就能建立起一个长治久安的可持续战略和有序发展的状态。

补充:会后,我想用四句诗总结,博雅贤文广,一米笃行知;气定风调雨,神闲花满枝。

“博雅贤文广”——就是政府领导下,通过各方努力建设可持续发展的舆论和政策、市场导向;

“一米笃行知”——是企业秉承知行合一的原则,千里之行始于每一米的足下,开展可持续经营与探索;

“气定风调雨”——是说企业在坚定可持续发展的定位后,根据市场和政策的需要审时度势,因势利导,创造企业可持续竞争优势和生态;

“神闲花满枝“——百花齐放,春光满园。


Bill:Firstly, sustainable development is not a strategy that a company can formulate on its own. Strategy is about solving problems. Traditional companies aim to solve the needs, pain points, and difficulties of customers. If no customers say they need low-carbon, green products, or services that can save the Amazon rainforest and Arctic glaciers, then for most companies, sustainability is a nebulous concept.

If a CEO discusses this from a pragmatic perspective with the company, the board of directors and decision-makers will demand a return on investment and output, which is not achievable for many cases. This is a very realistic problem.

So, what if we're not pragmatic and speak in generalities about peace, protecting the interests of future generations, and other universally correct values and worldviews? If a company has so much money that it can't spend it all, doing charity sounds ok. But most companies aren't that wealthy, so we have to solve the problem of combining reality with idealism — that is, making sustainable values continuously generate value at the business level. In this way, we can achieve unity of value and action from top to bottom.

So, the question becomes who can support the organic unity of sustainable values and business operations and benefits? The answer is the government and policy and rule-makers from all walks of life. They establish investment, market, and management policies conducive to sustainable development. For example, the European Union has launched the GREEN DEAL, and the Chinese government is gradually launching a series of green product and market construction plans. With such demand-driven policies, companies must formulate reasonable sustainable development strategies that align with these policies and market needs. To achieve the goals of sustainable products and organizational development, companies need not only to achieve internal unity from values to actions but also to leverage the power of external companies and partners to create a value ecosystem. In this way, perhaps we can establish a long-lasting sustainable strategy and orderly development state.

To summarize in four lines of poetry: "Bo Ya Xian Wen Guang, Yi Mi Du Xing Zhi; Qi Ding Feng Diao Yu, Shen Xian Hua Man Zhi."

"Bo Ya Xian Wen Guang" — under the leadership of the government, efforts are made to build a sustainable development discourse and policy, market orientation; "Yi Mi Du Xing Zhi" — companies adhere to the principle of unity of knowledge and action, every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, to carry out sustainable operations and exploration; "Qi Ding Feng Diao Yu" — after the company has firmly established its position in sustainable development, it needs to judge the situation according to the needs of the market and policies, take advantage of the situation, and create a sustainable competitive advantage and ecosystem for the company; The last line, "Shen Xian Hua Man Zhi," signifies a garden full of flowers in full bloom, a world at peace.


主持人:开展ESG工作,企业可以采用什么框架,重点关注什么指标?

Question:What Framework should business adopt for ESG and any important Indicators?

龚万彬:这个框架我继续用道法术器四个字,来建议企业

道:政策、愿景、目标、承诺——这个是务虚的部分

法:程序、规则——在内建立能源管理体系、环境管理体系,碳管理体系,以及产品可持续生态设计和供应链管理程序等,执行PDCA;对外要关心欧盟、美国、中国等政策市场要求;

术:技术、标准——组织层面ISO 14001, 50001, 18001,SA8000,产品层面:14040/4,14067,PCR建设;等等

器:平台、指标——充分利用诸如一米一这样的平台工具,开展产品和组织、供应链的生态足迹评估及管理;

在指标设计以及披露沟通方面,要分析和结合企业及所在行业的可持续领域的实质性影响和重要性,另外更关键的是要看价值链上下游的影响,争取在自身降低环境影响的同时,对上下游有积极的贡献,这有助于建设可持续的生态优势——例如材料行业在循环性、在功能技术领域的突破上的努力能帮助下游汽车、电子、建筑、机电等不同行业降低原料消耗、降低重量等,实现碳排放和资源影响的提升。

最后在沟通方面,建议大家通过满足ISO 14025这样的环境产品披露标准的方式进行沟通,也就是EPD,这样尽可能的做到可信和客观。

补充:会后感受—《礼记》里面有句话“学也者,所以修身、齐家、治国、平天下者也。”可持续发展不是一个自然而然的经济决定,需要有意识的引领和建设,在这方面,一米一期待与大家共同努力。


Bill: For this framework, I may continue to use the four words "Dao, Fa, Shu, Qi" to suggest to companies:

Dao is Policy, Vision, Goals, Commitments — the abstract part but important and necessary for business to embrace ESG. 

Fa is Procedures and Rules — companies internally can establish energy management systems, environmental management systems, carbon management systems, as well as sustainable product ecological design and supply chain management procedures, etc., execute PDCA; externally, pay attention to the policy market requirements of the EU, the US, China, etc.

Shu is Technology, Standards — such as organizational level standards of ISO 14001, 50001, 18001, SA8000, and product level: 14040/4, 14067, PCR construction etc. 

Qi: Platform, Indicators — make full use of platform tools like "Ecovane", to carry out ecological footprint assessment and management of products, organizations, and supply chains;

In terms of indicator design and disclosure communication, it is necessary to analyze and combine the substantial impacts and importance of the sustainability field of the enterprise and its industry. More importantly, it is necessary to look at the impacts on the upstream and downstream of the value chain, striving to make positive contributions to the upstream and downstream while reducing its own environmental impact. This helps to build a sustainable ecological advantage — for example, the efforts of the materials industry in circularity, and breakthroughs in functional technology can help downstream industries such as automotive, electronics, construction, electromechanical, etc., to reduce raw material consumption, reduce weight, etc., thereby achieving an increase in carbon emissions and resource impact.

Finally, in terms of communication, I suggest everyone communicate through meeting standards, such as ISO 14025 for environmental product disclosure, that is, EPD, to be as credible and objective as possible. For organizational level, other similar standard and procedure can be followed. 

Epilogue:There is a saying in the "Book of Rites," "Learning is the means to cultivate oneself, order one's family, govern the state, and bring peace to the world."
